Mark started racing in 1993 at the age of 9 and like many racers he started out in motocross. Pollock immediately showed signs of talent and over his nine years in the sport achieved four schoolboy motocross champion titles. In 2002 at the age of 18 Mark made the switch to short circuit racing, competing in the Aprilia RS 250cc Championship. In that year he accumulated nineteen race wins and the overall Ulster and Irish 400cc championship. In that same year Mark also picked up a podium in the British 250 Aprilia Challenge. Pollock moved to a 600cc machine in 2003 and added a number of Irish
National Supersport podium finishes to his ever increasing array of reputable
performances. In 2005 he started off the season fighting fit with a second place finish in the opening round and a race victory in round two. Unfortunately Pollock suffered at the hands of injury for the remainder of the year. Despite this he battled on to finish out the season in a respectable seventh position In 2006 Mark will be making his racing debut for EMS in the European Superstock Championship.
