saw Sheridan finish 3rd in the 50cc high school championships, despite
missing the first race,
He held the lap records for the 50cc class for Phakisa and Midvaal until 2005
2001 was his first year on a 600 Kawasaki and he finished in 3rd place in the
Championship at only 16 years of age.
2002 again saw Sheridan finish in 3rd place on his 2000 model Kawasaki
only beaten
by 2 works Honda
2003 brought much need help from Kawasaki SA in the form of a new ZX-6RR their
support was rewarded with both Regional and National privateer Championships.
2004 Secured a works ride with First Technology on the new Honda CBR1000RR with
no set up data for the new bike still managed to finish 2nd in the Championship.
Offered a 1 off ride in Australia where he finished 2nd in a regional event on
a ZX10R and finished 3rd overall in the National x-treme round with Nikon Yamaha.
2005 Sheridan stayed with First Technology and they switched to Yamaha they were
the first team to put the R1 consistently on the podium at every round of the
South African Superbike Championship.
Offered a 1 off ride with team Nvidia in the British Superbikes where Sheridan
put in strong performances on difficult unknown tracks.
Currently he holds 50% of the lap records at SA circuits used by the SA Superbike
championships
Sheridan finished off 2005 as the youngest ever South African Superbike Champion
